Prologue
The hall was full of lights, music, and laughter. It was Rudra’s sister’s birthday party, and the whole place looked like something out of a magazine.
Abhimanyu stood near the bar, a drink in his hand, scanning the crowd with the usual bored expression he wore to these events. And then he saw her.
His grip on the glass tightened.
It was her.
Last week on an empty road, his car had hit her scooty. She was on the ground, scared and angry, her books scattered everywhere.
He had rolled down the window and thrown a few notes at her.
Abhimanyu: "Lo, damage ke paise. Ab rasta chhodo."
Siya: picking up the notes and throwing them back at him "Paise apne paas rakho. Galti tumhari thi, aur izzat se maafi maangne ki tameez bhi nahi hai tumme? Gareeb dikh rahi hun toh bheekh samajh ke phenk doge?"
She had walked away fuming, and he had driven off irritated.
One of those “gareeb” people he tried his best to avoid.
What is she doing here?
This wasn’t a roadside. This was Rudra’s house. Imported chandeliers, designer dresses, people whose last names showed up in business magazines. She didn’t belong here.
The thought annoyed him more than it should have. Before he could stop himself, Abhimanyu walked up to her.
Abhimanyu: "Tum? Yahan kya kar rahi ho? Paise khatam ho gaye kya, toh party mein bheekh mangne aa gayi?"
The music kept playing. A few people turned to look.
Siya stared at him for one second. Her face went from shock to anger.
And then, right there in front of everyone, she raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face.
The sound cut through the music.
The room went quiet.
Abhimanyu didn’t flinch. He slowly rubbed his cheek, and a cold smirk appeared on his face.
Siya turned and walked away, leaving Abhimanyu standing there with everyone’s eyes on him .
Abhimanyu: "Good. Gussa achha lagta hai tumpe. Isi gusse ke saath jiyo... kyunki jald hi rone ke liye bhi kuch bachega nahi."
He hated people who begged.
But he hated even more that the girl who scolded him on the road... was now in his world.
And now... he wanted nothing but revenge!
